Cheng Yaojin, formerly known as Yaojin, is later renamed Zhijie Yizhen, a native of Jeju Donga (now southwest of Dongping, Shandong), the founding general of the Tang Dynasty, one of the twenty-four heroes of Lingyan Pavilion. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, Cheng Yaojin successively enters the Wagang Army, supports Wang Shichong, and then surrenders to the Tang Dynasty. He follows Li Shimin to break the Song King Kong, capture Dou Jiande, and cast down Wang Shichong, and use his merits to make the Su Guogong. He participates in the revolt of Xuanwumen, becomes Luzhou governor and general, and is renamed Lu Guogong, Puzhou governor. In the second year of Linde (665), Cheng Yaojin dies at the age of 77. Under Li Zhi's imperial order, he bestows the posthumous title "Xiang" as a gift to General Hussar and Governor of Yizhou. His deeds are commonly seen in various literary works. The Story of Cheng Yaojin is a storytelling work by Master Tian Lianyuan, about the Sui and Tang Dynasties.
