From New York Times bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries, the deliciously sexy fourth book in the Duke's Men Regency romance series—the first of which was called "a totally engaging, adventurous love story" (RT Book Reviews, Top Pick).
The heir presumptive to the Viscount Rathmoor, Dominick Manton once had his heart's desire within reach—a bright future as a barrister and engagement to Jane Vernon, a wealthy baron's daughter. Then a shattering betrayal by his vindictive brother George snatched away Dom's inheritance and his hopes of offering Jane a secure future. Brokenhearted, and attempting to end their engagement without destroying Jane's reputation, Dom staged a betrayal of his own to convince her that he's not the husband-to-be that she thought.

Now George is gone and the viscountcy restored to Dom, since his brother's widow, Nancy—Jane's cousin and closest confidant—never bore an heir. But when Nancy goes missing, a panicked Jane calls on her former fiancé to track down her cousin. Dom knows the mistakes of the past may be unforgiveable—but now, entangled together in mystery and danger, will they rekindle a passionate longing that was never lost to begin with?

Twelve years ago, Jane Vernon's world was shattered when she found her fiance, Dominick Manton, in her cousin Nancy's embrace and sent him packing. But the scene had been staged by Dom, owing to machinations by his cruel, vindictive brother, George, to force Jane to jilt him. Now George is dead, his widow, Nancy, is missing, and Jane and Dom are thrown together in a frantic race to find the elusive woman, get some answers, and sort out their feelings for each other. VERDICT Secrets, treachery, greed, and a dash of stupidity (not the protagonists', of course) weave through the plot of this fast-paced, deliciously passionate romance that brings love to the last "Duke's Man" and is a perfect conclusion to Jeffries's addictive quartet. A sizzling romantic adventure; nicely done. Jeffries (How the Scoundrel Seduces) lives in North Carolina.

Dominick Manton should be glad his plan worked. Disinherited by his vindictive brother, George, Dom is eking out a living working as a Bow Street Runner. Dom knows that no matter how much he may love Jane Vernon, he cannot ask her to marry him. So he finds a way to trick Jane into jilting him. Now, 12 years later, George is dead and Dom is the new Viscount Rathmoor when he unexpectedly crosses paths once again with Jane. Jane's cousin, Nancy, who is also George's widow, is missing, and Jane desperately needs Dom's help finding her. Fate, it would seem, is giving Dom another chance with Jane, but can she forgive him for betraying her all those years ago? Plenty of action, clever plotting, and a well-rendered pair of protagonists with an abundance of potent sexual chemistry make Jeffries' latest Regency, the fourth in her Duke's Men series (following How the Scoundrel Seduces, 2014), an absolute treasure.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2015, American Library Association.)
